Monday marked 34 weeks that I've been pregnant. I realized recently that I've been pregnant all of 2013, even though I didn't realize it until February. I've got to say that for the most part, being pregnant hasn't been utterly awful, and certainly better than some people experience. My morning sickness never caused me to actually vomit and I kind of got used to it after awhile, although I was certainly glad when it went away. I remember wondering if I'd be one of those unfortunate souls who have to bear the morning sickness cross the entire pregnancy. Now that I'm nearing the end, I understand the full extend of how hard that would be - nausea AND utter fatigue! Yikes!
I can't say I've loved the third trimester of being pregnant, but I'm trying to stay positive, so I've been thinking about the upside of being pregnant. And, since it's what I do, I made a list.
Benefits of being pregnant
1. Sending my husband out to get me a slurpee just because I was craving one. It wasn't even in the middle of the night so he couldn't complain.
2. Not having to clean the bathrooms. Steve's been really good about doing this ever since we had a pre-natal class on base that said pregnant women should avoid cleaner fumes.
3. Having a good excuse to lie down on my bed after work instead of making dinner.
4. Getting pampered. When a pregnant woman says she's tired, people listen and do whatever they can to make her feel better. I try not to take advantage of it, but when it has happened, it's been pretty nice.
5. Not having to help lift anything even remotely heavy.
6. Whenever I say anything or do anything that is slightly off I just say, "Hey, leave me alone, I'm pregnant!"
7. A good reason to leave my job. Don't get me wrong, I like my job, but it was never going to be a forever job. I will miss most of the people with whom I work, but I'm looking forward to being at home with my kid.
That's all I can think of right now, but then, today probably isn't the best day to write a Pros of Pregnancy post - I'm tired! Exhausted is more like it. From what I hear, I better get used to it. I figure, though, that once the baby comes, at least I can stay home in comfy clothes instead of having to get r
