When I first started at my job, one of my coworkers shared with me a website that listed free and discount Kindle books every day. I don't check it very often, but sometimes when I do I find a book that ends up being a pretty decent read. This is one of those books.
Moon Signs is the first of a series. I haven't checked to see if other books in the series have been published yet. The story begins with two retired sisters setting off for a long weekend at a hotel their grandparents once owned near a ski resort and at which their niece currently works. While there, they discover the body of one of the owners and go about helping the police solve the murder while also looking for Monet paintings their grandparents were rumored to have bought in Paris and kept at the hotel.
This is no Agatha Christie mystery (but then again, there's only one Agatha Christie!) but it was a fun read once I got into it. The two sisters make for good, relate-able characters and I appreciated the lack of truly annoying people that some books have. A lot of times, you get what you paid for when you get free or cheap books, but this book was a nice find that I would have felt okay with paying a few dollars for.
